  • CCTV Tenders

Six tenders were received and were opened on Friday, 21st March, 2003 at the Market House. The tenders were opened, dated, timed and signed by the Chairman of Ballynahinch Regeneration, the Chairman of Down District Council and the PSNI area manager Inspector McClean.

The Chairman of Ballynahinch Regeneration, Vincent Fullam said
"It is not simply a case of accepting the lowest tender.   This is a highly technical subject, and we have to examine these documents very carefully to make sure that we are comparing like with like.   The decision will be announced shortly"
The poles on which the cameras will be mounted have been ordered for some time and are expected next week.

This page will be updated as events unfold.

    Update - 14th May, 2003

Work has begun on installing the bases to carry the poles at various points throughout the town and should be completed by this weekend.

One contractor has been selected from the six who tendered to install the camera equipment. According to the information that we have at the moment, the entire system should be up and running by the end of June.

    Update - 20th June, 2003

Work on the poles is now completed and the cameras will be installed as soon as they arrive
